Stay a while and explore Kent’s coolest seaside town

Check Out Margate

Explore the uber-cool, seaside-kitsch town of Margate, where beach holidays and modern art are seriously on trend.  Celebrate age old resort town traditions here – sandy beaches, fish ‘n’ chips, seafood stalls and shore-side-rides before capturing a famous Turner sunset for the gram.

All around Margate, you’ll see why it deserves the title, Capital of British Cool: a regenerated Old Town and Harbour Arm packed with hipster hangouts, buzzy cafes and retro shops.  The town so beloved by JMW Turner and Tacey Emin is now attracting waves of artists, galleries and innovative firms.

There’s loads to do whilst in town, from touring Turner Contemporary – the acclaimed international art gallery where collections range from edgy and challenging to accessible and fun, that celebrated it’s 10th anniversary in 2021, to marvelling at the mysterious shell grotto, exploring the Margate caves and delving into all things decapod at the totally clawsome Crab Museum!

For a great evening out Margate’s got you covered.  There’s plenty of bars and live music venues and with a packed programme of events all year round at Dreamland from indoor club nights to outdoor festival style events, there’s plenty to suit all tastes.

Of course no visit to Margate would be complete without a visit to Dreamland!  You’ll be whizzed, whirled, flung and spun on one of our retro rides, before grabbing great selfies around the park for the gram and tucking into delicious dishes served up by our super traders.
