Celebrate National Roller Coaster Day & Ride The UK’s Oldest Roller Coaster!
We’re getting set to celebrate National Roller Coaster Day on Tuesday 16th August 2022, shining a spotlight on our crowning glory, The Scenic Railway – the UK’s oldest wooden roller coaster!
First opened in 1920, The Scenic Railway turns a whopping 102 years old this year and to honour this milestone, We’re offering one free ride per person (T&C’s apply) on the Grade II* listed wooden wonder to the first 102 guests through the Scenic Gate at 11am on Tuesday morning!

The first 102 people through the Scenic Gate will be issued with a specific wristband.
Wristband is valid for 1 x free ride on Scenic Railway per person
Wristband must be redeemed on Tuesday 16th August 2022
Scenic Railway ride restrictions apply.
Dreamland terms and conditions of entry apply.
Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer or promotion
Scenic Wristbands cannot be exchanged for cash.
Scenic Wristbands are not valid on any other ride within Dreamland.
Scenic Wristbands are not valid for Roller Disco
The 102 free riders agree to be photographed on the day
Dreamland employees and friends or family of employees cannot take part

In continuation of the celebrations and to commemorate this historic ride, we have also launched a competition to name the two Scenic trains, which since Dreamland re opened in 2017, have carried more than 400K thrill seekers.
To enter your name suggestions, just fill out the online form below. There’s no limit to entry suggestions! The competition will close on Tuesday 30th August 2022 and winners will be announced on Thursday 1st September 2022.
The two lucky winners will not only see their names on the trains, but they’ll also receive a commemorative piece of the Scenic Railway to keep forever!
